My favorite find of the day by far...in fact I must give it a favorite point. At first, I wasn't too sure which approach to take...circle around to the left or to the right...or is it over there in the middle? Of course, I chose the wrong way and had to double back when I came upon a "barrier". My second attempt brought my along a trail right around to where I needed to be. Paths are mainly dry already and I was hoping not to run into any bears. I kept telling myself they must still be hibernating.
Out on the water, which is still mostly ice-covered, I saw some geese, mallard ducks and a pair of great blue herons (bonus! First of the year). Cache was an easy find once I arrived at gz. Emptied some water out of the container and the logbook is wet but still signable. TFTC!!

Out for the day with the grankids. We found this one on our way home, we needed to get to Ashern in a hurry on the way here. I needed to buy some rubber boots before could get some of these ones since there was water in the ditch. The girls went ahead, with nan yelling 'go left,, go farther' ..etc.. bringing up the rear. mcm found it again first.. lol,,she still has the knack to be in the right spot. lol .. this really irks her big sister. Introduced the littlest grandkid to "treasure hunting". i think we have him hooked. We had a great day. TFTC

Didn't know this was "unavailable" ... it was barely damp ... signed log
with no problem. Then took the opportunity to wander through the small
cemetery for a few minutes. Along came a friendly gentleman (spotted me
in the cemetery, and came to talk). He'd come to turn the heat down in
the church, so he invited me in to see the interior of the 100 year old
building! What a lovely, cozy church! Thanks for bringing me here [:)]

On our way to "the Peg" to join all the old farts at the McCartney
concert. Left "Pair of Genes" pin and a CHALLENGE: collect ten of pins from TEN DIFFERENT CACHES, return them to me specifying the cache in which
each was found and I will make a donation of $50 to MSF (Doctors Without
Borders) in your name (you get the tax deduction). TFTC Lid needs repair.

Needed a cache to keep my attempt at finding a cache a day in august to
get all of the souvaniers, and this one was the closest to the cottage. We
took the back roads over and parked in the field enterance, checked out
the corn crop, then ventured over. Was surprised to find something out of
place really quick and investigated it... Had to run back to the car for
some trusty tools and made the find quickly! Thanks for the cache!

Enjoying the day and the caching as we head north to canoe the Churchill and Sturgeon Weir Rivers with friends. We are headed to the Narrows ... we were last here in 2008 canoeing in the Voyageur North Canoes with the David Thompson Brigade. Lots of great memories of the warm welcome, great fiddle playing, native dancing and school kids enjoying a ride in the BIG canoes. Life is good. TFTF!
